PARODONTOLOGY
Periodontology studies periodontal tissues and related disorders, effectively treating diseases such as pyorrhoea, also known as periodontitis.
This disease damages the tissues supporting the teeth (the gum, bone and periodontal ligament), giving rise to severe inflammation that, in severe cases, can cause the loss of dental elements. If caught in time, pyorrhoea is reversible. A relevant pathological situation can therefore be maintained and even improved.
